"The Night After Christmas"
It's been a long night and day, but Santa is delighted with the outcome. He is finally able to rest, relax and soak his tired, cold feet. He has his pipe, a cup of coffee and a book in his lap in which is recorded his adventures of the night before.
A warm shawl covers his shoulders. It is a dark green and navy blue striped velour with bright red snowflakes and red fringe. He wears red flannel pajama's and a navy blue velvet robe, which is lined with navy blue satin. His pipe is sculpted. The label on the bottle in his hand reads, "North Pole Tonic For Extreme Cold." The coffee in his cup and the water in his footbath are stained glass. The small book in his lap is an original poem by myself, written in 1995 for my grandchildren, titled, "The Night After Christmas, " inspired by Clement C. Moore's "The Night Before Christmas." (My grandchildren were asking if Santa ever got to celebrate Christmas.) The first lines are "Twas the night after Christmas, and all through the shop, not a toy was left, not even a top. As Santa retired, for a long winter's sleep, he smiled to recall, instead of counting sheep, Christmas Eve had begun with elves here and there, packing toys and candy and games children share."... The teddy bear is from Boyds Bears. The floor cloth under the footbath is hand painted on canvas. This figure is a 26 inch figure. Seated, he is approximately 22 inches. $850.00

"Mouse In The House"
Accompanied by her cat friend, Mother Claus knits as she awaits Santa's return from his yearly journey around the world. To her consternation, she spied an uninvited guest. "My Goodness! There's a mouse in the house!" Mother Claus is fully dressed, including nylon stockings and ruffled pantaloons. Her dress is of white flocked sheer fabric over a pale green satin lining. Her lined jumper is of silk velvet with hand sewn lace trim. She wears a small cap of the same flocked sheer, with a green satin ribbon, pearl earrings, and a pearl and green crystal necklace. A small crystal berry corsage adorns her jumper collar. Her slippers are black leather with green satin ribbon bows on the toe and are removable.
Mother Claus holds her knitting as if arrested in mid-stitch. She sits on a captains chair with red velvet cushions. Her feet rest on a hand constructed stool, also with red cushion. The cat and mouse were sculpted then covered with rabbit fur. The rug is a small real wool rug. Standing, Mother Claus would be 22 inches. $715.00
