"Copper Hand Formed Heart Necklace"

I cut a one inch by one inch heart from copper sheeting and burnished all edges. I annealed the heart to put in soft waves and also heat treated the heart to bring out a bit of color.

This heart is embellished with a metal rose and two freshwater pearls. It is 1" x 1 ", and is on an 18 inch chain. Closure is over sized copper toggle. Necklace hangs nicely and is truly a one of a kind piece. $28.00

What is Heishi? The literal meaning of Heishi is "shell" and specifically refers to pieces of shell which have been drilled and ground into beads and then strung onto necklaces. More and more frequently, however, Heishi ( pronounced hee-shee) has come to refer to hand made tiny beads made of any natural material. The origin of Heishi is linked to ancient history of the people most proficient in its making, the Santo Domingo and San Felipe Pueblo Indians. It is safe to say that this is the oldest form of jewelry in New Mexico, and perhaps North America, pre-dating the introduction of metals. Centuries ago, the shells used by the Pueblo Indians to make beads were obtained in trade from the Gulf of California.

A string of good Heishi will have a uniform consistency. If you gently pull it through your hand, it should feel like a single serpent like piece. Note- precisely because of the handwork involved, a fine string of Heishi may contain a slightly flawed or chipped individual bead.

"Jeweled And Trendy Copper Autumn Necklace"

A beautiful combination of textured hammered copper and Czech glass beads with an S. link closure. This necklace measures 24" long, not counting focal. Focal is 2" long. Links may easily be removed if a shorter necklace is desired, but I think you will like this necklace at this length. Necklace slips over my head easily without using the closure. The hammered S links I made from 16 gauge copper wire. Each link is cut out and then hammered flat to give it strength. I then give each link texture with my ball peen hammer. Finally I tumble and polish. The texture is beautiful. SInce the links and the beaded links are handmade, there may be variations in shape and texture.

The Czech glass faceted beads that adorn the copper necklace are in an array of yellows, deep green and burnt red. I separated each bead with a small glass rainbow seed bead. The spiral focal is hand formed, hammered and VERY slowly heat treated to bring out the yellow, gold of the copper. $50.00

 Labradorite is a power stone, allowing you to see through illusions and determine the actual form of your dreams and goals. It is excellent for strengthening intuitions.

Earrings were hand formed and worked hardened by me using Sterling Silver. Lightly hammered gives the sterling bursts and S hook extra texture to grab the sun. The Labradorite is set on sterling with metallic glass bead ends. The ear wires were also hand made.

Using Sterling Silver, I wire wrapped 12 Lapis gemstones. The center six are round beads capped with tibetan silver caps and the last three lapis on each side are puff coins. Some of the links I attached with Sterling S hooks which I formed and hammered. I used small metallic seed beads for embellishment. The closure is a Sterling hand crafted toggle.
